I Voted for Myself… Who did you vote for?

CHANGE comes from within us, NOT from our President nor the Government

“A presidential choice is just a choice. It may or may not change our lives.”

Today, millions of Filipinos are lining up in precincts to cast their vote. Most of us are hoping that our votes would create change in our lives and the lives of our countrymen.

Looking back in 2004, I considered myself as one of these hopefuls hoping that our country would change for the better, providing more opportunities to all Filipinos, especially the poor.

Fast forward to the present, our country did experience change. Most notably in the Real Estate Industry having built more infrastructures since 2004; the booming Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry, which according to Wikipedia and BSA/U had grown 46% annually since 2006, providing more jobs for Filipinos; a more convenient banking system spearheaded by BDO and BPI; and increased OFW remittances since 2004, which according to Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas, our country had a 4 percent growth to a record level of $17.1 billion last year and by 6 percent this year, just to name a few.

But these changes could NOT solely be credited to our elected President and the Government. These changes are joint efforts of highly diversified investors, entrepreneurs, politicians, labor forces, our countrymen and so on.

If we compare the Philippines 2010 and the Philippines 2004, a lot has changed… But there’s one thing that remained constant for some Filipinos… and that is the struggle of daily living. According to Forbes, 30% of our population is still living in poverty… the number speaks for itself…

When I first voted last 2004, I was hoping for a change. I had all the patriotic reasons of changing the Philippines as a whole. But deep within me, I was more concerned of the food I have to eat everyday, the water I have to drink and the lack of money needed for my daily survival. In short, I was really hoping for a personal change.

This is true for some of us.

Some of us voted because we were hoping that our President and the Government could bring change in our lives. We were hoping that they would be able to alleviate our daily living from poverty. And when we realized that nothing has changed for us, we would often blame them for our poor situation.

It wasn’t until I read the book called Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money-That the Poor and the Middle Class Do Not! that I learned… that CHANGE comes from within us… NOT from our President and definitely NOT from the Government… and the rest is history.

Today, I am experiencing a life of abundance, traveling across Asia for business and leisure. Empowering and inspiring other Filipinos to realize their full potential… to take control of their personal finances… and to stand on their own without relying much on our President and the Government.

Together with my extraordinary team of entrepreneurs, we are taking patriotism to whole new level. It is our passion to change the scarcity mentality of most Filipinos and enlightened those who have been blinded.

We fully understand that we create our lives… We create the exact amount of our financial success… We create money and time freedom… We create abundance in our lives… and not our President nor the Government…

We are fighting for a greater cause… that is greater than ourselves…

We are fighting for a First World Philippines

Yes, our dream may look daunting and at times we are afraid. But we don’t let doubts and fear stop us… because we already voted…

And we voted for ourselves

“Change will only come from within us… not from anyone else…”
